This new bell schedule is a result of legislation passed and signed into law on October 13, 2019, by Governor Gavin Newsom (Senate Bill 328, Pupil Attendance: School Start Time). SB 328 requires that the school day for high schools begins no earlier than 8:30 a.m., and takes effect July 1, 2022.
