Every year Sunny Hills PTSA, and PTAs across the nation, recognize individuals and groups who have given volunteer service and made significant contributions to youth and the community.
Please help us in honoring these individuals and/or groups by submitting a nomination to our Honorary Service Committee by FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024.
We have many deserving parents, teachers, staff members, and students among our Sunny Hills High School community. Please send their name and a brief description of their contributions. If we miss getting your nomination before this year's awards, we will recommend your nominee for the following year.
Recipients are typically recognized at the May SHHS PTSA meeting and they receive a certificate (HSA and VSP) and pin (HSA only).
The six categories are:
The Very Special Person (VSP) Award may be given to individuals or PTA constituent organizations to recognize having contributed to the school community in a special way.
An Honorary Service Award (HSA) may be given to an individual or organization in special recognition of outstanding service to children and youth.
A Continuing Service Award (CSA) may be given to an individual or organization in special recognition of continued
service to children and youth. The recipient may or may not have received a California State PTA Honorary Service Award.
The Golden Oak Service Award is the most prestigious PTA award in California. This award may be given to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in the school or community.
The Outstanding Teacher Award may be given to a teacher in special recognition for outstanding service in positively impacting the lives and welfare of children and youth in the PTA, school, or community
The Outstanding Administrator Award may be given to an administrator in special recognition for outstanding service in positively impacting the lives and welfare of children and youth in the PTA, school, or community
