California State PTA Scholarships

California State PTA has two scholarships to help the class of 2024 achieve your collage dreams and life goals:

$1000 Volunteer Service Scholarship & $500 Dr. Ralph E White Graduating Senior Scholarship

The deadline for the applications, reference forms/letters, and all supporting documents is February 1, 2024

Fullerton Council of PTAs

Fullerton Council of PTAs offers graduating high school seniors scholarships to acknowledge their achievements for volunteer service in the school and community.

This scholarship is available to all PTSA Member SHHS Seniors. The deadline is March 31, 2024.

SHHS PTSA Scholarships

SHHS PTSA provides scholarships for graduating Seniors who are current PTSA members and who are planning to attend an accredited college, university or technical program. The scholarship committee would like to invite eligible graduating Seniors to apply for our annual scholarship. Six candidates selected this year will receive $500 each.

SHHS PTSA Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors for their overall academic excellence & service in schools & communities, allowing them to register for courses at accredited colleges, universities, trade or technical schools. Student applicants must be PTSA members by December 31, 2023, as well as currently enrolled & graduating from Sunny Hills High School.

Eligibility Requirements: 

  1. Student applicants must be a member of the Sunny Hills PTSA in good standing by Dec 31, 2023. Verification of membership must be provided or located. Currently, non-members at time of application are not eligible to purchase membership

  2. Student must be a graduating Senior, currently enrolled at Sunny Hills High School

  3. Student must plan to attend an accredited college, university, trade or technical school beginning in the fall of the next school year, immediately following high school graduation

  4. Student must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher in academic related courses 

  5. Student must demonstrate participation in extracurricular / community activities. 

Submission Instructions

Application will not be considered if received after due date or if any of the required materials are missing.

The final application packet must include::

  1. Completed application form. See below.

  2. Two letters of recommendation from a high school teacher, advisor / counselor, employer, administrator or community leader. (The letters of recommendation can be emailed directly to sunnyhillsptsa@gmail.com if the writer prefers.  

    Or, if the writer gives the letter of recommendation to the student, the student can email it with their application.)  

  3. Copy of Sunny Hills High School transcript. 

  4. One - Two pages, double spaced, typed essay from the applicant describing the following: (include name on paper)

    • a “pivotal moment / event” that the applicant encountered (during teenage years) and what he / she learned from that experience.

    • the applicant’s college plans

    • the applicant’s career plans and why that career was chosen 

    Please submit #2-4 all in the same email to ensure full packet submission to sunnyhillsptsa@gmail.com by April 5th, 2024

    Each scholarship student applicant’s PTSA membership will be verified prior to consideration of their application. Student applicant must be a member of the Sunny Hills PTSA in good standing by Dec. 31, 2023.
